Brushing

  • Brush your teeth gently and at least two times daily. We have found power toothbrushes can do a better job keeping your mouth healthy. Ask us which power toothbrush is best for you.
  • Replace your toothbrush every two to three months, or as the bristles become worn or bent. A worn-out toothbrush does not clean your teeth properly and can hurt your gums. You should also replace your toothbrush after you've had a cold.
  •

Flossing

  • Hold about one inch of floss tightly between the thumbs and forefingers; gently glide the floss between the teeth going under the gum. Using a c-shape, buff the sides of the teeth, cleaning the plaque off the surfaces.

Teeth Cleaning, Gum Care

Each time your teeth are cleaned, Julie, Dr. Reichel's hygienist, evaluates your gums to make sure infection is not present. The Reichel Dental Team is able to recommend and provide a periodontal (gum) treatment to keep you healthy and smiling. Ask us about your gum health at your next visit.

Fillings

Enjoy a whole-hearted laugh knowing people are noticing your smile, not your silver fillings. Dr. Reichel uses tooth-colored fillings that not only match your teeth, but provide superior strength, support and function. Bonded fillings are used to restore front and back teeth.

Dr. Reichel and his team are always happy to pass on tips for healthy brushing and flossing, and how to keep your smile healthy for years to come.

Crowns and Bridges

Crowns (or caps) are used to rebuild and strengthen teeth that are broken or have large, older silver fillings. Bridges, a series of crowns that are connected, are a traditional treatment option to replace missing teeth. There are many types of crowns and bridges; ask which type of crown is best for your smile and bite.

Dentures, Partial Dentures

Dr. Reichel works closely with local dental technicians to custom design your dentures and partial dentures. Attention to detail allows Dr. Reichel to make dentures that chew comfortably, fit securely and look natural.

Athletic Mouthguards

Custom-made athletic mouthguards are recommended for athletes of all ages who compete in a contact sport. A professionally made mouthguard protects your smile and dental health.

Anti-snoring Appliances

If you've been told you snore, Dr. Reichel can make an appliance to minimize and possibly eliminate this annoying habit. Patients who wear the appliance while sleeping can sleep better, breathe easier and find they feel more rested in the morning.
